NPD Production Planner

The Production Planner proactively manages customer demand while improving inventory levels. Lead and facilitate active problem-solving to drive continuous improvement and has the ability to drive change laterally, upwards and across departments. Other duties include: 

Demand Management/ Production and Development  Planning  Demonstrate advanced knowledge of demand management & incoming supply within MRP system. Lead cross functional capacity discussions based on SIOP details and variable staffing levels. Responsible for creating complex work orders and optimized material flow. Maintains build-plan accuracy and shipment forecast. Proactively identifies risk to customer requirements and communicates effectively. Offers solutions to prevent future material stock outs.        Management of multiple projects including successful master scheduling of new jobs, maintaining current jobs and successfully closing out of completed jobs Owns and manages new product sourcing plans with input from purchasing, PM and Design Engineer Inventory Management  Champions management of inventory replenishment system, familiar with implementation of multiple methods of replenishment.  Responsible for identifying and actioning inventory reduction opportunities and tracking of savings.  Performs material transactions and is able to root cause and resolve transactional issues.  Leads activities related to excess & obsolete materials.  Daily Management  Leads daily management and facilitates tracking required KPIs.  Lead problem solving of related supply chain metrics.  Maintain & forecast tracking of work order timings.  Continuous Improvement  Ability to utilize Fortive Business Systems (FBS) tools. Lead & facilitate various continuous improvement events. Comply to existing work instructions documents and suggest improvements for creation of new documentation. Cross Functional Collaboration  Coordinates development program build schedules with PM , Prototype lab, and production.  Ensures items are delivered on time for development, qualification and production.  Coordinates with production cell planner and test manager to meet program schedule Participates in development program meetings and program team meetings.  Effectively drive communication of cross functional team members and building
support staff.  Support demand manager through updates of cell capabilities parameters, proactively prepare for SIOP meetings.  Act as mentor to other members of supply chain team.

Qualifications:

Driver and Goal Oriented: With limited guidance, identify tasks needed to support desired outcomes, and challenges potential delays to drive necessary actions for results. Clear Communicator: Strong written, verbal, and listening skills. Effectively communicates with external suppliers and internal stakeholders. Quickly and openly communicates challenges and proposes solutions. Prepares dashboards, presentations, or other information for management. Organized: Demonstrated ability to stay organized with multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Good decision-making and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented. Time management and workload prioritization capabilities are key. Flexible: Comfortable working in ambiguous situations with limited guidance from the Manager. Possesses a positive questioning attitude, able and willing to dive into the root cause. APICS certification in CPIM is preferred. Excel experience is preferred. ERP/MRP systems experience preferred. Report writer experience preferred. Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering required OR 4-7 years of direct planning experience in lieu of degree.
