NPI Engineer Job Number: 355456 Category: Aerospace Description: Job Title: NPI Engineer Location: Gulf Breeze, FL Zip Code: 32563 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: Up to $46 / hr depending on experience Schedule: 1st shift Keywords: #NPIEngineer #Aerospace JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Collaborate with design engineering teams to understand product specifications, requirements, and design intent. * Develop and execute NPI plans, including project schedules, resource allocation, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies. * Define manufacturing processes, equipment requirements, and production flow for new products. * Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and customer requirements. * Design and optimize manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, testing procedures, and quality control measures. * Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop efficient production layouts, work instructions, and process documentation. * Conduct process validations, capability studies, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality. Identify and resolve any manufacturing issues or bottlenecks that may arise during the NPI phase. * Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials and components for new product manufacturing. * Evaluate supplier capabilities, conduct audits, and establish effective supplier quality assurance processes. * Coordinate with the procurement team to manage supplier contracts, negotiate pricing, and resolve any supply chain issues. * Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet production demands and minimize excess or obsolete inventory. * Facilitate the smooth transition of new products into full-scale production, ensuring production readiness and capacity planning. * Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve any production issues, including quality non-conformances or design-related challenges. * Provide technical support and training to production personnel to ensure proper understanding and execution of manufacturing processes. * Collaborate with the quality team to develop and implement inspection and testing procedures to ensure product compliance. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the NPI process, including engineering change orders, process specifications, and test reports. * Generate reports and presentations to communicate project status, key metrics, and performance indicators to stakeholders. * Participate in post-NPI reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous process enhancement. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor"s degree in Engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering preferred). * Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management in the Defense and Aerospace industry. * Experience with NPI processes, including planning, project management, and execution. * Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., AS9100, ITAR). * Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.
