Job Description
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Production Lead will report to the Production Manager and will support production activities for new products and repeat manufactured products. The NPI Lead conducts NPI builds, trials new materials, and maintains NPI core functions at a high standard. Execute efficiently, self-validate work, check quality, and meet critical deadlines. The role involves providing constructive feedback, defining/iterating standard work, and suggesting process improvements. The NPI Technician leads in production readiness, and mentor associates.
Responsibilities: • Support Engineering in prototyping and provide iterative feedback for continuous improvement. • Provides training and development to new and existing employees to cultivate high performing teams. • Perform electro-mechanical assembly independently while collaborating effectively handling various operations, troubleshooting, and reworking with a strong understanding of functional operation. • Holds employees accountable for attendance, performance, productivity and teamwork. Ensures that the Safety and Quality of the product is maintained throughout the entire process. • Assist NPI Product Engineers and Program Team in all product introduction phases, from launch to sustaining and aid in trials for new parts to ensure smooth Production. • Ensure high-quality activities, including self-inspection and thorough process checks. • Perform hands-on product build validations, collaborate with cross-functional teams for production readiness, and meeting critical timelines. • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with teams, and addressing priority tasks. • Efficiently complete tasks within manufacturing schedules, ensuring a clean and orderly work area, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, and prioritization of health and safety. • Encompass responsibilities such as updating production records, communicating test results, and reporting discrepant materials. • Demonstrate a quick and flexible approach to problem-solving, task management, and collaboration. • Directs and assigns work to employees within their specific area/line as needed to reach Safety, Quality and Production goals. • Leads, guides, motivates and communicates to line employees professionally and competently. • Collects and reviews all documentation at shift end to ensure processes were followed and Data is recorded correctly.
Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical Degree preferred. • Must demonstrate ability to setup and monitor equipment through written and verbal instructions.
• Minimum 5 years manufacturing related experience with ability to use and read accurately various measuring instruments. • Ability to perform fine mechanical assembly including resistance welding, light machining and electrical testing • Certified soldering skills per J-STD/NASA a plus. • Defense and Aerospace Industry experience including working knowledge of company product lines a plus. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
