Recruitment/Posting Title NTT Lecturer - Lighting Design Department MGSA - Theater Arts Salary Annual Salary Posting Summary The Theater Department of the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University – New Brunswick invites applications for NTT Lecturer – Lighting Design for the 2025-26 academic year, beginning September 1, 2025.Responsibilities will include the following: Teach courses within the theater program commensurate with your expertise at all levels of undergraduate courses; advise undergraduate students on their artistic progression; maintain professional artistic activity and/or scholarly research in accordance with the needs of the department as determined by the chair. Responsibilities will also include the advising and supervision of student production assignments, independent studies, and internships.You will also be expected to: hold regular office hours; attend department and program meetings; participate and assist in recruiting efforts; maintain and develop curricula; participate in all undergraduate review cycles; support collaboration initiatives within Mason Gross and across the University; and other duties as assigned. A more detailed list of faculty responsibilities is outlined in the department by-laws and faculty handbook.Candidates must have broad professional experience in lighting and a comprehensive understanding of lighting styles and aesthetics, as well as a high level of understanding of the operation and maintenance of all current lighting equipment, including LED and automated fixtures, wireless dimming and control systems, ETC lighting consoles, DMX and Ethernet technology, computer drafting programs, including VectorWorks, lighting design databases, and 3D rendering and digital imaging programs.
