Now Hiring Experienced Professionals for a Firewatch Officer!

 

- Starting pay rate $16.99 / hour

- 12 hour shifts

- Must have prior Security, Nuclear or Firewatch experience

- Nuclear facility located in Glen Rose, Texas

- Insurance and PTO offered

 

Allied Universal® is hiring a Nuclear Firewatch Officer. The Firewatch Officer is responsible for assigned tours to inspect for fires and monitor room checks as directed by on-site Fire Protection Department. They will maintain fire watch and observe and report fire hazards and/or working fires in accordance with post orders.  The Firewatch Officer will ensure all required paperwork is accurate and complete, and will perform other duties and support, as needed. This position will ensure all duties are carried out with safety as the number one priority and will foster and model a healthy Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain fire watchControl and extinguish firesReduce or eliminate potential fire hazardsEnsure all paperwork is accurate and completeAssist local emergency personnel as requiredObserve and report fire hazards and potential fire risks as they occurMaintain all requirements for site access

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalentMust possess the ability to obtain and maintain all necessary state or federal licensing requirementsIf previously employed, verifiable positive work historyProficient computer skills including Microsoft OfficeEffective oral and written communication skillsActive listening skillsAbility to assess and evaluate situations effectivelyAbility to identify critical issues quickly and accuratelyAttention to detailBe at least 18 years old or minimum age required by your StateBe able to work scheduled twelve-hour shifts Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipmentDemonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the publicComplete the following, post-offer in accordance with the code of federal regulations for armed nuclear security assignment (10CFR, Appendix B):MMPI – Psychological testingPhysical Exams, including vision and hearing, in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements and site training and qualification planNuclear site-specific training and testing providing general knowledge of nuclear power generation science and principles, plant rules and regulations, communications, and access. In addition, this training and testing will include radiation worker principles including respirator training, fit and dress out.
