Job Summary

May administer Roentgen rays and radioactive substances and magnetic resonanceOperates imaging equipment, develops film. prepares exam room, equipment and suppliesProvides patient services using imaging modalities

Primary (Essential) Duties

Follows the prescribed techniques in administering all types of proceduresMaintains working inventory of suppliesPrepares patient for procedures, explains procedure, assists patient to and from exam roomPrepares contrast agents. Prepare other materials in accordance with procedureObserves equipment and patient and reports unusual occurrencesCleans and disinfects procedure room and equipmentDevelops film in accordance with photographic techniquesPerforms general office dutiesUses proper radiation safety techniquesMay be required to perform in more than one modality. Duties could be any three of\: Diagnostic, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and AngioTransports patientsPerforms quality control and quality assurance duties as assignedTrain other staff members as requiredAssess equipment needs with DirectorThe above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position

High School Diploma or GED requiredMust have registration and certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine, or certification and registration with the ARRT in another modality (i.e. radiography, computed tomography, MRI, etc.) and documented training on the provision nuclear medicine examinationsPerformance of job includes neo-natal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patient careCurrent BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center

Qualifications\:
