Position Focus:
Provides technical support for all PET and PET/CT imaging projects and experiments involving humans and pre-clinical subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
Subject Identification & Consent: Verify subject identity and ensure informed consent is obtained before procedures.
Patient Care: Provide patient care, including venous access for radiopharmaceutical administration.
Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Administer the correct dose and type of radiopharmaceuticals, maintain IV access, and dispose of excess radioactive material.
Sample Collection & Processing: Collect and process blood samples during procedures.
Image Processing: Perform image reconstructions and ensure timely processing and database entry.
Data Analysis: Analyze data and images, report results, and perform daily calibration of PET cameras and equipment.
Quality Control: Conduct phantom studies, monitor equipment, and troubleshoot or report issues.
Information Sharing: Provide data and images to relevant personnel and ensure radiation safety practices are followed.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain QC and standards set by regulatory agencies.
Center Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and efficient subject flow in the PET Center.
Cross-Training & Supplies: Cross-train in other areas and manage supply levels.
Essential Duties:
Perform specialized testing procedures in radiology, ophthalmology, and ultrasonography.
Review patient charts and plan testing methods.
Operate and maintain testing equipment.
Provide information to patients and interpret test results.
Coordinate slide and film processing.
Schedule appointments and handle billing paperwork.
Assist in research projects and create visual aids.
Order and maintain inventory of supplies.
Perform additional clinical functions as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in PET and PET/CT imaging and related tasks.
Ability to follow study documentation and standard operating procedures.
Skill in performing quality control procedures and identifying equipment malfunctions.
Competence in administering radioactive doses and maintaining accurate records.
Adherence to radiation safety guidelines (ALARA).
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Program and an approved Radiologic Technology Program for Computed Tomography.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $82000.00/yr.
