Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Tech to join our team! This is a PRN position working a rotating call coverage and covering as needed for high volumes and vacation relief.

Under the direction of a Board Certified Radiologist, the Nuclear Medicine Tech provides quality patient care essential to performing a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures, in compliance with Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA principles.

Position Overview:

The position is for a Nuclear Medicine Tech on a PRN (as needed) basis.Responsibilities include performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, adhering to Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA principles.The role involves patient interaction, education, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.The position requires knowledge and proficiency in using radiographic equipment, monitoring image quality, and maintaining equipment.The tech will transport patients and equipment as needed, administer oxygen when necessary, and assist with various medical procedures.Other responsibilities include maintaining records, assisting with orientation, and collaborating with colleagues.

Qualifications:

An Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Radiology is required.The candidate must have a current Texas Medical Board (TMB) General Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification.American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (R) is required within 12 months of hire.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is necessary.A minimum of 3-5 years of radiology experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.The candidate should be available for on-call duties during after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
