Performs routine and emergency Nuclear Medicine procedures. Responsible for mentoring and training students in a cooperative learning environment.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms Nuclear Medicine procedures including IV injections of radiopharmaceuticals, use of spect camera and computers and processing of computer generated images.Keeps accurate records of receipt, disposal and administration of radioactive material.Performs required Quality Control procedures on camera and equipment and document results.Reviews images, documents completion of case, assembles images, requisition and file jacket for delivery to Radiologist. Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Required
Additional Educational Requirements
Formal nuclear medicine technology training at an AMA approved school.
Work Experience:
Previous experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
State license / New Jersey Required
ARRT Certification Required or
CNMT certification Required
CPR or BLS Certification Required

Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.

Works in a normal hospital environment with exposure to infectious diseases and radiation. Must rigidly observe monitoring and safety procedures to avoid overexposure to radiation.
