Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Summary

Performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for scans of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information.  Operates Nuclear equipment to produce scans and measures concentration of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas.  Surveys packages (radioactive) for leaks and surveys “hot” laboratory and examination rooms for radioactive spills.  Assures compliance with NRC regulations and other inspecting agencies.

Position Qualifications Minimum Education: Must have an associate’s degree or greater in Radiological Sciences or certificate from an AMA-approved school or 1 year of training in Nuclear Medicine. Preferred Education: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and/or NMTCB. Preferred Experience: 2 years in a related work situation. Certifications Required: CPR through AHA
