We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** MPHS-Mills-Peninsula Medical Center **Position Overview:** Competently performs routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures to produce quality images to physicians and other health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or may help orient other staff to the department. **Job Description** : _._ NUCLEAR MEDICINE SERVICES • Performs a variety of diagnostic nuclear medicine examinations. • Operates complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment. • Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames. • Prepares for and assists physicians in a variety of nuclear medicine diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures. • Explains and educates the patient on the procedure, medications or contrast media, and associated biological effects in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety. • Mentors and fosters a constructive environment that helps students and new technologists build confidence in their skills, knowledge and abilities. **EDUCATION:** Other: Successful completion of an educational program in Nuclear Medicine accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) OR Successful completion of an educational program in Radiography accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:** RHN-Radiologic Health Nuclear Medicine (Department of Public Health) (required if working in California) NMT- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) OR ARRT(N)-Nuclear Medicine Technology (American Register of Radiologic Technologists) BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider **TYPICAL EXPERIENCE** **:** 5 years of recent relevant experience **Job Shift:** Days **Schedule:** Per Diem/Casual **Shift Hours:** 8 **Days of the Week:** Variable **Weekend Requirements:** As Needed **Benefits:** No **Unions:** No **Position Status:** Non-Exempt **Weekly Hours:** 0 **Employee Status:** Per Diem/Casual Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.
