Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Sign-on Bonus up to $10k!
**Overview** Fairview is looking for a Nuc Med Technologist at Fairview St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. We are known for our award-winning heart, stroke and cancer care. Imaging Technologists deliver services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. St. John's offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients We have outpatient access seven days a week. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs all non-PET related Nuclear Medicine procedures according to the Minnesota Department of Health established policies and procedures, methods and standards to provide quality patient care. **This position is eligible for a new hire Sign-on Bonus up to $10,000!!** **Schedule** : This is a 1.0FTE (80 hours worked per two weeks) position. The shift length will be 8 hours. Typical work schedule will be a rotating day schedule, start times will vary between 5:30AM to 8AM and includes weekend call rotation. **Responsibilities Job Description** Verify physician’s order for procedure. Identify and measure appropriate radiopharmaceutical prior to injection to prevent misadministration. Greet and properly identify correct patient and provide a brief explanation of procedure. Confirm and document inventory of all radioactive material used, sorted and disposed of according to Minnesota Department of Health regulations and guidelines. Perform and record all required quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation. Assess, prepare, record and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to Minnesota Department of Health regulations and department policies. Performance of all non-PET related Nuclear Medicine procedures on patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. Provide quality information and care to patients, physicians, and staff. Select proper technical factors for each particular study/patient to ensure highest quality imaging. Monitor and survey area for radiation contamination per Minnesota Department of Health regulations and guidelines including proper procedures for addressing radioactive spills. Responsible for 24 hour off-premise call duty and respond to emergency and / or stressful situations in a calm, professional manner. **Qualifications** Required + Vocational Training or Associate Degree + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) and /or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or must become board certified within 45 days of hire. + Basic Life Support certification ( BLS ) - from American Heart Association or American Red Cross and current before date of hire Preferred + Bachelor’s Degree + 1 + years experience + Certified in Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) and /or Positron Emission Tomography ( CNMT/PET ) **EEO Statement** EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any lawfully protected status **Benefit Overview** Fairview offers a generous benefit package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
