Nuclear Pharmacy Technician
What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy.Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Tech II, Nuclear Pharmacy is to assist the pharmacist in pharmacy operations and customer interactions, including answering questions and relaying information to physicians and pharmacists. The Tech II, Nuclear Pharmacy participates in all aspects of facility and equipment preparation, including inventory management and performing and recording all tasks as mandated by law. As part of operating in a nuclear pharmacy, this job assists in compounding of drugs in line with manufacturer specifications, performing quality checks, and participating in the dispensing process. In addition, this job assists in order preparation, entry and fulfillment as well as completing ad hoc tasks, as required. Schedule Monday-Friday from 2:00am-10:30am ResponsibilitiesPrepares and makes deliveries to customer accounts on assigned route using a company vehiclePackages radiopharmaceutical medication for shipment, performs testing, and loads/unloads containersApplies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasksReadily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned areaPerforms quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelinesMaintains appropriate licenses, training and certificationsWorks on routine assignments that require some problem resolutionWorks within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methodsPerforms quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelinesWorks under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy.  Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding

QualificationsActive PR Pharmacy Technician License and Registration is requiredAssociate degree as Pharmacy Technician is requiredMust hold a PR valid driver's license and have a good driving recordPrior delivery driving experience a plusAbility to lift containers weighing up to 70 poundsStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work night shifts, weekends and/or holidays and to work various shift is requiredExperience in Hospital IV compounding and Sterile environment is preferredDemonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tabletsA Covid-19 vaccination or a legitimate accommodation is required in order to be employed in this position.
