Nuclear Reator- Mechanical Design Engineer


Volt is immediately hiring a Remote-Nuclear Design Engineer- with a client located in Bellevue, Washington. Our client is a world leader in new nuclear technologies for hybrid energy and medical applications. In this role, you will create design solutions for the design development of various reactor structures and components for the Reactor. Candidates must have extensive experience in equipment design.
As a Nuclear Design Engineer you will:

\r\n\r\nDesign reactor structures and components from requirements through final design.\r\nCoordinate inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to produce equipment and components design solutions.\r\nPerform scoping analysis and calculations for design options.\r\nInterface with the team's engineering analysis activities.\r\nPresent equipment and components design results for design reviews.\r\nAssess technical merit of solutions provided by team members, including leading design reviews.\r\nSupport continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.\r\n\r\n


This is a full-time contingent role.
The Ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\nB.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred\r\nMinimum of eight years of equipment / component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience.\r\nWorking experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III.\r\nExperience writing design specifications.\r\nExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).\r\nExperience in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS.\r\nExcellent writing and communication skills.\r\nStrong analytical/problem solving skills, creative thinker.\r\nAbility to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems.\r\nAbility to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week.\r\nFamiliarity with CAD, SolidWorks preferred.\r\n\r\n


Pay Rate: $80-90.00 hour
