The role
As a Nuclear Repair Mechanical Fitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We currently have this opportunity to undertake mechanical fitting activities, repairs and inspections on systems and equipment on all RN and other entitled Vessels and, when required, in other sections including the Estate.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible Completion of all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and nuclear implicated work to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business.
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, onsite 36 hours per week with a half day on Friday’s.
Essential experience of the Nuclear Repair Mechanical Fitter
Working experience in a mechanical background Comfortable with working with machines and hand tools Proven pipefitting working experience Knowledge of HM Submarine, Ship Operating procedures and Nuclear reactors would be desirable but not essential
Qualifications for the Nuclear Repair Mechanical Fitter
Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship, qualified to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (NVQ3, City & Guilds, HNC etc) is essential
