JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Provide technical expertise in the identification, investigation, and resolution of plant operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant reliability and availability, including the use of technical expertise to support safe and reliable plant operation and maintenance of components.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESDeveloping mechanical technical evaluations e.g. repair plans, bolting, torquing, and gasket evaluations.Monitoring, trending and assessing system, program and component health to improve plant reliability.Championing Strategic Improvements to Systems and ComponentsSupport maintenance and work management by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, including simple troubleshooting supportLeading complex troubleshooting activities with maintenance and operations support.Leading design, development and installation of strategic, emergent and temporary modifications in the plant.Identify, prioritize and support other plant processes and programs including the corrective action program, operability determination, adverse condition monitoring and operational decision-making processesPerform field support of plant activities and conduct paired or individual system walk-downs.Lead cross-functional teams to manage/resolve system performance issues.Ensure Program/Component/System readiness and compliance with design / license basisAddress emergent issues to minimize the impact on engineering core business activities.Strategy recommendations and support for regulatory and industry inspections.Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer or technical specialist level.)
Minimum experience required of the position
Minimum of (3-5) years performing Engineering work in a nuclear or a related industry.
Desired: Valve experience, design, operation, maintenance, and program management. We are specifically seeking individuals trained and qualified in Air-Operated, Motor-Operated, or Check Valve Program management.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Good to excellent communication skills and experience. Proficiency in PC use and associated applications.
Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position
Desired: Industry Valve specific training.
