Summary:
The Nurse Apprentice (NA) is a member of the health care team who performs PCT/PST skills and skills acquired in the first semester of nursing school. Skills are performed in the patient care setting under the direction and supervision of an RN include urinary catheter, IV reseal DC and sterile technique. Must have completed first semester or level one in RN Nursing Program which includes clinicals. NA skills must also be validated on hire or must complete the skills designated in the PCT Course. NA portfolio must be completed within 90 days of hire.
Required Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
Minimum Qualifications: A current student in an approved RN program with completion of Nursing Fundamentals which includes a round of clinicals at a nursing home (at a minimum).
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; may also qualify with a Certificate of Completion
