About The Job:

The behavioral health nurse assistant collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary team in caring for the psychosocial and physical aspects of the patient; acts in concert with the nursing and medical staff in providing assistance and supportive measures to patients and families in managing stress, crisis intervention, providing information about illness and complying with medical advice; participates in a continuous quality improvement process for patient care. Additionally, the behavioral health nurse assistant provides patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse. This care focuses on personal hygiene, nutritional needs and activities of daily living. 

What we are looking for:

Education:

Successful completion of formal Nurse Aid course/training verified through transcript or original program certificate of completion, required.

      OR

Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.

Experience:  

Nursing Assistant experience preferred

Special Skills and Competencies:

Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Self-motivated and detail oriented individual.

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
