Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Critical Care—This unit houses critical care patients needing ICU and PCU levels of care. With 24 large private rooms patients are provided a healing quiet space that allows for increased monitoring. Each room has full monitoring capabilities and is large enough to house pumps and ventilators without constricting the care team. ICU and PCU are both staffed using national standards of care. Ratios are 1:1 1:2 and 1:3.
Essential Duties:
Provides continuous cardiac monitoring arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
Initiates and titrates multiple complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.
Manages intubated/mechanically ventilated patients.
Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events.
Manages acute trauma patients.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing BSN preferred.
Previous PCU or ICU experience preferred.
Previous Emergency room experience also considered
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or attainment within six months of hire.
CCRN/Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) preferred.
