parametersEducation Graduate of a school of nursing BSN or MSN preferredExperience Two to Three years recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting required Three years recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting with prior Care Management experience preferredLicense and Certification Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut Current Basic Life Support BLS certification Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications Certified Nurse Care Manager certification preferredKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate information Basic computer skills including openingreading email basic internet useWorking knowledge of third party payors as well as hospitals registration and billing processes Knowledge of health care fiscal management goals and strategies including trends and issues in health care reimbursement and knowledge of care delivery system across the continuum of care Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments employees physicians and managers Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a hectic work environment Ability to handle multiple priorities Working knowledge of windows based software Ability to influence and persuade members of the professional staffPROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKINGAbility to react and perform under strict timelines andor emergency situations Requires the ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to
