**Job Description:**
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

As a Nurse Clinical Leader, you will provide leadership and clinical expertise within your department, ensuring optimal staffing levels and resource allocation to meet both clinical and financial needs. You will supervise nursing personnel, manage departmental operations, and serve as a clinical resource for staff, demonstrating professionalism, competency, and dedication to patient care. Your responsibilities will also include direct patient care, supporting the development of staff, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory standards. Your leadership will contribute to fostering a high-quality, collaborative, and efficient care environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**
As a Nurse Clinical Leader, you will:
+ **Lead and Supervise Nursing Staff:** Oversee nursing personnel, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and resource management. Support staff through mentorship, performance evaluations, and professional development to maintain high standards of care.
+ **Direct Patient Care:** Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, social, psychological, and cognitive status. Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
+ **Manage Department Operations:** Ensure that departmental operations run smoothly by managing time, resources, and scheduling, including approving and denying time-off requests based on patient care needs.
+ **Promote Staff Competency:** Foster a culture of continuous learning by evaluating staff performance, organizing ongoing educational opportunities, and ensuring compliance with policies and mandatory educational requirements.
+ **Enhance Patient Experience:** Lead initiatives to improve patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. Ensure that patient needs are met promptly and efficiently by coordinating care and staffing appropriately.
+ **Participate in Hiring and Retention:** Assist in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new nursing staff. Develop retention strategies and foster a positive, supportive work environment for all team members.
+ **Ensure Compliance:** Adhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, ensuring that all practices are within the scope of licensure and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
**Position Details:**
+ **Scheduled Weekly Hours:** Full-time
+ **Shift:** Varied Shifts, including days, nights, and weekends as needed
+ **Location:** Grand Junction, CO
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (must obtain BSN within four years of hire if not already obtained).
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers upon hire or within 60 days with prior approval.
+ Strong clinical assessment, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
+ Previous nursing experience, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and lead a team.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Specialty certification in a clinical area of practice.
+ Experience in a leadership or clinical mentorship role.
+ Advanced certifications in patient care management (e.g., ACLS, PALS).
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to see, read, and assess patient needs, operate medical equipment, and maintain accurate documentation.
+ Frequent communication with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
+ Manual dexterity to handle complex equipment and electronic documentation.
+ Ability to lift, move, and assist with patient transfers and transport of medical equipment.
+ Physical endurance to stand, walk, and assist patients in a busy clinical environment.

**Physical Requirements:**
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
