Tripler Army Medical Center is seeking OB-GYN RNs to join our growing team!

Our staff serves by caring for our military but are not subject to military requirements. We operate within safe staffing standards - giving you time to provide exceptional care. 

 

Also known as the “big pink building on the hill”, Tripler is a 450 bed, Level II Trauma facility and participates in unique partnerships with civilian facilities to provide care to non-beneficiary trauma victims.

Responsibilities Identify at-risk patients and initiates and coordinates appropriate referrals as needed.Provide support, counseling, guidance, and health teaching to optimize therapies, interventions, and adherence to plan of care.Assess current health history to obtain information which may have a bearing on their condition and treatment, and which supplements the information obtained by the physician.Refer patients to other health care providers based on the needs of the patients and makes referrals.Perform vital signs assessment, assessment of blood glucose values, assessment of labs for pre-eclampsia, and other special evaluations as needed.Coordinate with physician to discuss results of findings and make plan of care follow-up and further testing as appropriate.Instruct patients in the proper use of medications and explains treatments prescribed by the physicians.Assist the infertility specialist with neovaginal and abdominal ultrasounds.Provide face-to-face triage of walk-in patients.Consult with provider as appropriate.Participate in various patient education programs.Performs other duties as assigned.  Qualifications

Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. 

Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.

 

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Education/Experience: At least one full year of professional nursing experience which includes providing comprehensive nursing care to intraoperative patients, assessing pre-operative or post-operative patients, and educating patients or staff.

OR

Education: A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
