PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Orients, trains, and provides support to nursing students, externs, residents, nursing staff, departmental support staff. Plans, implements and evaluates onboarding and orientation programs. Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Staff Registered Nurse. Provides oversight of preceptor selection process; may serve as preceptor. Uses adult learning principles to plan, design, implement, and evaluate educational opportunities and workshops for staff. Facilitates implementation of policies, procedures, and equipment. Maintains education and competency records for unit-based staff. Assist with unit-specific competency program; determines competency needs; participates in annual competency evaluation process. Participates in hospital-wide QI Program and assists in regulatory and compliance preparation. Develops, monitors, and reports unit-based QI measurement indicators

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION

PREFERRED

 

BSN degree Two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in the clinical specialty. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
