Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Nurse Clinician (NC) for the Department of Medicine-Infectious Diseases within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the the CRS Site Leader, the Nurse Clinician (NC) will be responsible for the implementation of clinical trials at the Clinical Research Center (CRC). The NC will assume responsibility for assuring that clinical trials are conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines and other applicable standard operating procedures and guidelines.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Reviews, plans and coordinates the initiation of research study protocol(s), and the establishment/adherence of operating policies and procedures related to research study protocols, research networks or research team. Minimizes losses to follow-up. Becomes thoroughly familiar and fluent with assigned protocols and will proactively provide education to clinicians and relevant team members on protocol requirements as appropriate. Develops study tools including but not limited to eligibility checklists, calendars, and flow sheets as required. Assesses, compiles and confirms eligibility documentation and participation status of prospective participants and arranges baseline and follow-up appointments with potential and enrolled participants. Conducts study visits as per protocol in a patient centered, clear, open-minded, non-judgmental context. Conducts protocol specific procedures (ECG, phlebotomy, etc.) and administers study product per protocol specific guidance and local regulations.
