Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Nurse Clinician for NJMS- Infectious Diseases. The Nurse Clinician (NC) is responsible for the implementation of clinical trials under the direction of the CRS Site Leader at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) Clinical Research Center (CRC). The NC will assume responsibility for assuring that clinical trials are conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines and other applicable standard operating procedures and guidelines. The NC will utilize the nursing process in their approach to clinical research as well as engage in ongoing process improvement activities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Reviews, plans and coordinates the initiation of research study protocol(s), and the establishment/adherence of operating policies and proceduresrelated to research study protocols, research networks or research team. Minimizes losses to follow-up. Becomes thoroughly familiar and fluent with assigned protocols and will proactively provide education to clinicians and relevant team members on protocol requirements as appropriate. Engages in ongoing performance improvement activities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the clinical and professional nursing practice and that of the Rutgers NJMS CRC. 4 Develops study tools including but not limited to eligibility checklists, calendars, and flow sheets as required. Assesses, compiles and confirms eligibility documentation and participation status of prospective participants and arranges baseline and follow-up appointments with potential and enrolled participants.
