Nurse Clinician
**UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is hiring a Nurse Clinician to support the Center for Interventional Psychiatry.** The incumbent will work Monday - Friday daylight. Hours may vary from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. **Sign on Bonus up to $15,000!** **Responsibilities:** + Education & Meetings: + Attend at least 6 educational meetings and 2 unit-based inservices yearly. + Provide staff education on clinical issues and psychiatric treatment. + Professional Practice: + Role model professional practice and participate in group programming development. + Maintain competency and use up-to-date practices in patient care. + Patient Care & Coordination: + Understand and differentiate psychiatric diagnoses for assigned patients. + Monitor patient status and coordinate daily care. + Round daily on assigned patients and review admission paperwork. + Educate patients/families on psychiatric medication/diagnosis. + Coordinate admissions and discharge plans with the treatment team. + Interdisciplinary Collaboration: + Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and maintain professional communication. + Act as liaison between disciplines, departments, and hospitals. + Actively participate in treatment team meetings. + Documentation & Time Management: + Complete documentation timely and manage time effectively. + Therapeutic Activities: + Lead therapeutic patient groups and assess clients holistically. + Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field required + MSN preferred + Two years psychiatric nursing experience preferred **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** ANCC certification as CNS or ANP preferred. PA RN License required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC) + Registered Nurse (RN) + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
