Nurse Clinician II - Cardiac Cath Lab (Galveston)

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

RN with minimum 6 months critical care and/or Cath/EP experience, intermediate care experience and/or successful completion of probationary NC I period documentation on e-performance evaluation. Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license or valid permit to practice in Texas.

 JOB SUMMARY:

Advanced Beginner Clinician.  Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to meet nursing standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nurse Practice. Basic knowledge of and skills for Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cardiac Cath Lab) and Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab) procedures and equipment. Assist in cardiac catheterization as well as electrophysiology, vascular and interventional procedures. Competently performs emergency procedures associated with catheterization procedure. Follows established standards and practices under the direction of a credentialed invasive cardiologist and electrophysiologist. Recognizes when assistance is needed and seeks appropriate resources. Practice is characterized by a balance of dependent and interdependent decision making. Focus is on expanding knowledge and skills for Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology procedures and equipment. Provides patient care through nursing based practices upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance. Values specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.
