Responsibilities
Assesses educational needs, conducts education programs, and validates staff competence in accordance with Unit-Based standards of practice.Partners with Nursing Leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Clinical Transition Programs to facilitate Graduate/Registered Nurse transition into clinical practice. Provides consultation and on-going support to Graduate/Registered Nurses in assigned service linedepartments through Glens Falls Hospital’s ANCC accredited with distinction Nurse Residency Program.Reviews and revises orientation/competency documents as required. Reviews and revises orientation schedule as needed.Provides consultation and support to Nursing Staff on all shifts. Rounds on assigned Units. AssistsClinical Nurse Preceptors/Nurse Managers in the assessment of learning needs and theimplementation and evaluation of performance improvement plans, as necessary, to develop staff competence in the practice area.Utilizes own clinical competency to promote delivery of high-quality patient care. Functions as a role model for clinical care
