The Nurse Educator 2 is a Registered Nurse responsible for multi-site or specialty-specific professional development of the staff. The Nurse Educator 2 fulfills multi-site/specialty unit(s) functions according to the Nursing Professional Development (NPD) roles of learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty, and partner for practice transitions. The incumbent carries out these responsibilities in alignment with the current Nursing Professional Development Scope & Standards of Practice and utilizing the nursing process as applied to the specialty (assessment, learning needs and outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation).

Responsible for applying the nursing process in the delivery of quality peri-anesthesia patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures. The RN serves as a patient advocate, practices ethical, conscientious behavior, and utilizes theoretical knowledge to integrate care. The RN directs and guides the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. The RN is responsible for assisting in the orientation of new personnel. A safe practitioner who continually strives to improve clinical knowledge and skills and demonstrates effective public relation and communication skills in dealing with physicians, patients, visitors and staff

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Valid Florida RN license

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
