Nurse Educator - Emergency Department at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance Hospital in Torrance, CA. This is a full-time, day shift position. 

$10,000.00 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

The Nurse Educator/ Nursing Professional Development Practitioner is a professional nurse with advanced clinical, leadership, and staff development knowledge and skills.  Supports the professional and clinical development of the bedside nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidence-based nursing care.  Facilitates the educational process through assessment of learning needs; and development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and activities, in collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams.

Required qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Or Bachelor's Degree in in a related field. And upon hire: California Registered Nurse License.  upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association. within 2 years of hire: Nursing Professional Development Board Certification or Nursing Education Required. 3 years Acute Care experience. 1 year Staff Development activities . Experience with simulation in healthcare. Experience with interactive, case-based online teaching/learning methods. Experience with both knowledge and skills based competency validation. Experience with outcomes measurement to evaluate effectiveness of education.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's Degree in Nursing or related professional development field. 3 years In area of specialization upon hire: Additional certification in one Specialty applicable to practice.
