JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director, Trauma Center, the (RN) Nurse Educator is responsible for ongoing assessment of learning needs for the trauma team (including prehospital providers, hospital team members and physicians) and the planning, coordination, evaluation and modification of orientation and educational programs, seminars and symposia related to trauma care. Selects and effectively administers appropriate teaching methods, teaching instruments and aids, specific to adult learners with a variety of clinical backgrounds and levels of expertise. Collaborates with the trauma services and care area teams to optimize learning throughout the continuum of trauma care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of experience
Current California RN License
Critical Care Registered Nurse
Adv Trauma Care for Nurses
BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
PALS Certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency or critical care nursing
Minimum 1 year of experience as a clinical preceptor for new or inexperienced RNs
Demonstrated experience formulating and delivering adult learning presentations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree
Trauma Nurse
Experience with simulations and laboratory learning
Experience with organizing and facilitating conferences/symposia for RNs and MDs
Demonstrated effective skills of communication and collaboration
The current salary range for this position is $65.93 to $97.83
