Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Electrophysiology (EP) Registered Nurse provides care to patients undergoing electrophysiology and Cath lab, invasive, diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures under the direction of the Cardiology Nurse Manager.
On-call responsibilities for the Cath lab required. The registered nurse employs critical thinking to integrate objective data with knowledge gained from an assessment of the subjective experiences of patients. Registered nurses use this critical thinking process to apply thebest available evidence and research data to the processes of diagnosis and treatment. Nurses continually evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and seek to optimize outcomes.Medical/clinical knowledge, technical and clinical skills, clinical judgment, interpersonal skills and communication as indicated in the current Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals areessential components of nursing practice. All registered nurses practice within the scopes and standards of practice set forth by the American Nurses Association.This position is represented by CNA and is covered bythe terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.Qualifications
Minimum:
One (1) year experience as an RN in an electrophysiology and/or cardiac catheterization lab.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.Certification in Specialty Area.
