Summary Paid Student Nurse Extern I | St. Joseph's Hospital, Breese IL Our student Nurse Extern position provides the opportunity to gain supervised, hands-on working experience while still in nursing school. Nurse Externs gain valuable experience to help them prepare for careers as members of the medical community tasked with providing high-quality care to patients. Nurse Extern I Overview: Nurse Extern I: Candidate MUST be actively enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program AND Candidate MUST successfully completed at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation before Nurse Extern I offer can be extended. Nurse Extern I performs or assists with patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Provides care for patients of all ages according to the standards of care specific to the individual's needs. Candidate specific department interest and department availability will be discussed during scheduled phone call with recruiter. Qualifications Education Nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program, or graduated with BSN or ADN within the previous 1 year. Student must have successfully completed at least one clinical rotation. Experience Successfully completed at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
