Overview

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is an 881-bed quaternary care academic medical center that is a joint venture between Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke’s Health. Responsibilities

The primary function of this role is to be available and flexible to float to various ICU units at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center.  Experienced critical care nurses, 2+ years of ICU experience required. Open to crossing training in those critical care units listed outside an individual's current ICU nursing experience.  ICU specialties include:  MICU, MSICU, CCU, NICU (neuro), CVICU, SICU, PCU, CTICU, CV Recovery. 

Expect to deliver care to 1-3 patients per shift Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging

Employees will be required to float between ICU specialties.  Must be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 2 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend.   Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy.

The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $50.00/hr, plus applicable shift differentials.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Nursing, ADNBachelors in Nursing, BSN PreferredLicensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas BLS with skills demonstration Additional certifications may be required depending on specialty 

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of RN ICU experience in an acute care facility

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective CommunicationKnowledge of the principles and skills of the nursing process to provide patient care and treatment. Critical thinking skillsDemonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbalBasic Computer skills
