Nurse Intern - McLaren Careers
**Position Summary:** Under the supervision of an RN, assists and supports the nursing staff by performing basic nursing care to patients. Assists and maintains a safe and clean environment. Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respect patient rights. **Essential Functions and Responsibilities:** -Responsible to Charge Nurse. -Provides direct and indirect patient care (nutrition, elimination, hygiene, mobility, safety). -Assists with or performs basic nursing procedures (e.g. follow-up, IV’s, saline locks, sterile & unsterile drips, NG’s, wound care, trach care, vitals, glucometers, colostomy care). _Required:_ * Must have completed two semesters of clinical rotations in an accredited program. * Completes SNT orientation check-off with Preceptor, once completed can perform duties independently with preceptor co-signing. * BLS certification at hire. _Preferred:_ * Previous experience as nurse aide Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans We are committed to encouraging and sustaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation.
