As our surgical services nurse at SJHMC,you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable.
Every day you will go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, make sure the equipment is ready to go, and update family members on the surgery status during the operation. You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery.
To be successful in this role you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.

Job Summary:
The Interventional RN is responsible for all aspects of care related to adult inpatients or outpatients undergoing procedures in the Interventional Neurology Lab. Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments and interventions. Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs, unique to the patient. Call is requirement of this position. Must be able to respond onsite within 30 minutes of the call.
Job Responsibilities:
Management of blood samples and calculationsSterile technique, scrub and assist physician during casesAdministration and knowledge of medications given to the patient under the supervision of the physicianOperate physiologic monitoring equipmentOperate all equipment related to IR procedures (IABP, Penumbra, IVUS, ISTAT, MedRad injector, manualthrombectomy, EKOS, McKesson pressure monitoring, venous Doppler, etc.
