Mercy San Juan’s Family Birth Place is the level 3 within the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals. Our Family Birth Center is Joint Commission Certified for Perinatal Care and we follow the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. FBC consists of a 12 bed labor unit 2 OR’s a 14 bed private postpartum unit a PACU and 2 triage bays. We average 100-120 deliveries a month and the department is supported by 8 Nurse Shift Managers a Perinatal Safety Nurse and a Perinatal Nurse Educator.
The incumbent is a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally.

1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experienceFetal monitoring experience requiredCurrent CA RN licensure BLS, ACLS & NRP certificate from American Heart AssociationNCC fetal monitoring certificate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course completion within 12 months of hireCesarean Section experience preferred
