Job Summary: The Nurse Leadership Residency Program at Loma Linda University Health hospitals is a two-year program designed to develop the professional nurse into a clinical leader. The program consists of a series of rotations intended to advance the critical thinking ability, knowledge, and skills of the professional nurse to become a successful part of our health care leadership team. Perform other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Master of Science Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or Administration preferred. Full-time enrollment in Master of Science or Doctorate Program in Nursing during the two-year residency required. Minimum one year of acute care bedside nursing experience required. Member of the Seventh-day Adventist church required.

Knowledge and Skills: Must be computer literate; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Able to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner in person and in writing. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively to all departmental personnel. Able to adapt to a varied routine; remain organized and handle many projects simultaneously; meet deadlines. Must have a good memory and mental capabilities to reason, process knowledge, solve problems, give attention to detail, and differentiate between making independent decisions and seeking appropriate direction. Must be a self-starter, have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and exercise discretion. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; write, hear, read and speak sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Current California RN License required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
