Position Summary

The Nurse Manager shall be responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of patient care services provided to home health patients and shall work collaboratively with the Director of Home Health Services to ensure collaboration and coordination of care among patient care disciplines.

Primary Position Responsibilities

Overall planning, supervision, and administration of nursing services. The coordination and integration of nursing services with other home health services to provide a continuum of care for patients. Development of protocols for regular communication, including case conferencing, between the nursing service and other disciplines based on the needs of each patient. Development of written job descriptions and performance criteria for nursing personnel, and assigning duties based upon education, training, competencies, and job descriptions. Ensuring that nursing services are provided to patients as specified in each patient’s nursing plan of care. Ensuring nursing supervision to nursing personnel. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree in nursing required. Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing Degree.
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: Four (4) years Home Health experience and at least one year of full-time, or full-
time equivalent, experience in nursing supervision and/or nursing administration
in a licensed health care facility. Preferred: Previous supervisory experience in a Home Health setting.
License, Registry or Certification: Required: Current NJ RN license.
Valid driver’s license.

CPR certification

Preferred: Certification in specialty.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Excellent customer service skills, knowledge and skill in current nursing practice.
Strong organizational and time management skills. Preferred: Knowledge of NJ Home Health rules and regulations.
