Crouse’s Orthopedic Unit specializes in patients being treated for musculoskeletal system issues and recipients of physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy. The Orthopedic team is hiring for a full-time Nurse Manager.
The Nurse Manager is delegated the authority and responsibility to assure the provision of safe, efficient and therapeutically effective nursing care to all patients within a geographically defined unit. In accordance with the objectives and policies of the hospital, the manager is responsible for assuring the nursing process is implemented effectively by evaluating the plan of care as well as the quality of care delivered by personnel assigned to that nursing unit.
Salary Range: $103,579.22 - $129,474.03 (based on experience).
Schedule: Monday through Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Nursing Manager Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall operations, leadership, direction and coordination of nursing and ancillary staff within the department. Ensures the provision of safe nursing care to all patients reflective of the plan of care through assessment, intervention and evaluation. Participates in development and implementation of standards for nursing action and in the evaluation of those standards through process and outcome audits. Coordinates department/patient care activities and interactions with other departments on an on-going basis. Demonstrates excellent nursing clinical knowledge; thoroughly assess the patients’ condition and specialized nursing care needs. Maintains an awareness of the patients’ and families’ psychological and physical needs by promoting total care. Proactively communicates with staff and keeps them informed on a regular basis or as needed; updates staff regarding policy changes in specialized areas of patient care.Requirements:
Three (3) years’ experience as a staff nurse with a demonstrated expertise in clinical field. Previous nursing leadership work experience preferred, but not required. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within 2 weeks after hire.Benefits Overview:
