Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our nursing unit. The Nurse Manager will ensure that the unit functions properly and safely on a 24-hour basis, providing excellent care to patients and residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing management and geriatric care.
ResponsibilitiesManage the nursing unit, ensuring it functions properly and safely on a 24-hour basis.Review medical records to ensure compliance.Conduct environmental rounds and follow up with resolution.Assign duties to licensed personnel and supervise ancillary personnel.Ensure timely completion and submission of all unit reports.Supervise the unit on a 24-hour basis, communicating with staff on all three shifts to stay apprised of events.Assess the need for additional or needed equipment.Oversee the care and management of patients/residents, ensuring appropriate care and treatment are provided.Respond to patient/resident/family concerns and issues.Develop work schedules for unit employees to ensure appropriate staffing levels and staffing mix are maintained.Manage clinical care and emergency responses.Essential SkillsBSN from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 4 years clinical experience, including at least 2 years of management experience, preferably in a geriatric setting.Strong management skills.Excellent communication and people skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsLong-term care experience.Geriatric care expertise.Work Environment
Located in the heart of the community of Washington Heights in Northern Manhattan, our 705-bed rehabilitation and nursing care facility is dedicated to providing quality care through diverse programs and services designed to support health and independence for individuals needing short-stay or long-term inpatient care. The shift for this position is from 7:30am-3:30pm, with some flexibility required. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00
