JOB SUMMARY:
Under the immediate direction of the Chief Nursing Officer or other designated administrative personnel carries out direct and indirect patient care. The nurse manager maintains the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring that nursing staff function within the policy and procedures of the hospital. This position is required to use independent discretion and judgment. Requires strong analytical and organizational skills necessary to assess, develop, implement and evaluate individualized plans of patient care and patient/staff education. Requires professional responsibility to provide direction and constructive feedback to the rehabilitation team, nursing staff, and internal/external customers. Requires strong working knowledge of interdisciplinary planning, as well as nursing practice procedures, equipment utilized and applicable regulations.
MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure: Current Indiana RN license or compact license.
Experience: Minimum of two years hospital experience preferably in a leadership role.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. BSN preferred.
Registration/Certification: Must obtain and maintain AED/Basic Life Support (CPR) within 90 days of hire. ACLS optional.
