Nurse Manager Emergency Department
**$10,000 Sign On Bonus**
**_Position Purpose:_** **The Emergency Room Nurse Manager directs and manages nursing and related activities of the Emergency Department, plans assignments of staff, ensures adequate supplies are available, addresses physician concerns within the department** **.**
**_What you will do:_**
* Functions in first-line management/clinical leadership role in coordinating patient care activities on the nursing unit.
* Ensures appropriate staffing and coverage for unanticipated needs, within the guidelines of the department.
* Participates in the interviewing process of prospective staff and provides input to the Director.
* Assumes primary nurse, team leader, or patient care responsibilities as necessary
*Serves as a coach/mentor in recommending personnel actions such as promotions, clinical ladder advancement and transfers.
* Coordinate and adjust work schedules to meet the needs of the unit. Work with Administrative Director and Staffing Office on staffing issues as they arise to assure that unit needs are met. Approves incremental overtime and permits staff to leave early to meet the needs of the unit and maintains budgetary compliance.
**Education & Qualifications**
*Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or related field, preferred.
* Specialty certification desirable.
* Previous experience as regular Charge Nurse or Assistant Head Nurse level on a nursing unit required.
* Strong leadership traits, as well as experience with staffing, scheduling, and strong communication skills necessary.
**Licensure:**
* Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Florida.
*Minimum of BLS Certification.
