Nurse Manager - Heart Center
Overview M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital, located in Edina, is looking for a dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our Heart Center team! Are you ready to join this team? The Heart Center is a 29-bed inpatient Cardiac Unit caring for adult patients with complex medical and conditions which require close observation, monitoring, and interventions, including but not limited to cardiovascular and electrophysiology patients. In addition, they will care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit. The unit is fast-paced and challenging with many valuable learning opportunities. The Nurse Manager leads nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director, this includes nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities. Responsibilities Job Description Job Expectations: Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization. Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management. Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget. Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives. In addition, the Nurse Manager: Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations. Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Advocates for patient, family and staff needs. Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience. In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/standard process clinical care is being delivered. Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency. Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives. Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research. Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes. Qualifications Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing must have a Master’s degree is nursing. Experience Three years of nursing experience, at least two of which are in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. License/Certification/Registration Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
