Nurse Manager NICU Level IV
Overview M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, is looking for a dynamic Nurse Manager to guide our Neonatal intensive Care Unit team! The NICU is recognized as a Level IV NICU — the highest level of intensive care for neonates comprised of 3 units: Small Baby, Med/Surg, and Intermediate Care with the opportunities to advance to higher level acuity. We are a designated March of Dimes NICU Family Support® program and have a Neuro NICU with specialized care for babies with neurologic conditions. NICU Level IV: 49 beds Provides developmentally appropriate care to infants born 22 weeks and above 1-2 patients per RN depending on stability of the baby Neonatal Nurse Practitioners on Staff 24/7 This is a full time position. Check out more of our benefits information here: www.fairview.org/noncontract Responsibilities Job Description Job Expectations: Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization. Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management. Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget. Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives. In addition, the NICU NM: Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations. Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Advocates for patient, family and staff needs. Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience. In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/standard process clinical care is being delivered. Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency. Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives. Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research. Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes. Qualifications Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing must have a Master’s degree is nursing. Experience Three years of nursing experience, at least two of which are in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. License/Certification/Registration Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
