**Nurse Manager Pediatrics** **Job Details** **Job Location** MCFI Main Campus - Milwaukee, WI **Position Type** Full Time **Education Level** 4 Year Degree **Travel Percentage** None **Job Shift** Day **Job Category** Finance **Description** **Job Purpose:** The clinical manager is responsible for organizing and directing the daily operations of the Pediatric Skilled Nursing program, including supervising the clinical professional and non-licensed staff, providing mentorship and guidance, and developing and maintaining program policies and procedures to preserve quality, integrity, and optimal functioning of the program. **Essential Job Functions:** _(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.)_ + Leads the day-to-day operations of PSN. + Supervises, directs and evaluates the performance of all staff who report to the clinical manager including formal reviews and performance recognition, feedback and coaching, and evaluation and assurance that all clinical skills are carried out with accuracy and competency to meet the standards of care established by Pediatric Skilled Nursing and in accordance with established policies and procedures + Responsible for orientation of new staff to the program, directing, supervising, evaluating, and training new staff, clinical students, and volunteers. + Evaluate and set clear goals and objectives for the team and monitor progress towards these goals and objectives. + Leads staff development by identifying the staff's educational needs and assisting in the development or organization of training programs to meet these needs. + Maintain staffing and census counts by: + Overseeing daily staffing requirements and adding, removing, and/or altering staff from daily schedule as needed. + Creation of monthly schedules for all direct reports. + Tracking of attendance for all clients and creating census and attendance projections to inform further client admissions and staffing needs + Works in partnership with transportation staff members, administrative assistant, and clinical staff members to supervise and ensure the success of daily transportation operations by: + Assisting in the preparation or amendment of daily and ongoing transportation routes. + Responding to any urgent transportation needs as it relates to accident or emergency response, or client or family needs. + Assists in the medical and safety training. + Provides maintenance of training requirements for transportation staff. + Assists in audits of documentation and recordkeeping and safety practices and skills. + Maintains positive and consistent communication with all referral sources and community partners to ensure timely delivery of services and continued excellence and innovation in services provided. + Assumes responsibility for the intake of new clients, including POT Development, admission paperwork, insurance verification, and family follow-up. + Assumes responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating all clients’ nursing care based upon skilled assessment, medical record review, the client’s plan of treatment, and communication with medical providers. + Maintains compliance with DHS 105 and DCF 251 regulations in developing, reviewing, and implementing client treatment plans and treatment plan addendums + Monitors client’s Prior Authorization status submits new claims as necessary and responds to member’s insurance providers as needed to ensure coverage of clients within PSN. + Ensures appropriate billing submission within time frame dictate by Medicaid, Milwaukee County CLTS, and any other organization where client receives funding. + Carries out clinical skills with accuracy and competency to meet the standards of care established by Pediatric Skilled Nursing. + Assists in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures to guide clinical and administrative practices in accordance with established standards of care, regulatory requirements, and program needs and capabilities. + Audits clinical charting, staff, and patient files to ensure compliance with DHS 105 and DCF 251 regulations and established standards of care. + Fosters positive relationships with the program's clients by providing support and resources to the families. Is cognizant of case management and educational needs of patients/families and implements a plan with established outcomes and timelines. + Establishes and maintains positive business relationships with all stakeholders, including relevant State of Wisconsin departments, other government agencies, referral sources, professional groups, and families. + Identifies program improvement goals and assists in developing appropriate measures to support these goals. + Leads the ongoing development of PSN, including facility design, equipment acquisition, referral development, staff recruitment, client support, and licensing/certification/accreditation. + Assists in developing, managing, and implementing practices and procedures pertaining to childcare as directed by the Department of Children and Families and Youngstar. + Assumes responsibility for the director in the absence of the director. + Other duties as assigned. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** + Performs human resources responsibilities for employees, including onboarding, training, coaching on performance, completing performance reviews, and improving overall employee morale. + Recommends hiring, terminations, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations. + Reviews and approves the accurate time report. + Responsible for ensuring that personal actions and the actions of supervised employees comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the program funders, contracts, and CFI business. **Qualifications** **Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure, and Credentials:** _(Where appropriate,_ _education and/or experience may be substituted)_ **Minimum Required Education:** Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing. **Minimum Required Experience:** Two (2) years of recent clinical experience in NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, Home health care, Public Health, or other pediatric settings, with at least six months of that time specializing in caring for children and young adults with special health care needs. Knowledge of community-based health and social service systems, principles, and resources related to children with significant health care needs. Knowledge of federal, state, county, and private funding and programmatic guidelines. **Required License/Certification/Registration** ; Issued by Governing Body (if applicable): Current WI Nursing License, without limitations incompatible with duties, responsibilities, supervision, or practice setting. Must either be CPR certified at the start of employment or complete a CPR certification course within 90 days of employment. The person must also safely push a person in a wheelchair on a level floor or a wheelchair ramp in various weather conditions. The person must also be able to transfer a person from a wheelchair to the toilet, chair, or van seat/car with the use of a gait belt and/or manual or power Hoyer lift. **Visual Acuity:** The worker must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal. **Working Conditions:** Ability to successfully deal with change and potentially stressful situations. This position is responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of consumers in normal program settings and various community settings. As such, this position must be able to observe consumer activities, detect areas of danger, distinguish when non-communicative consumers need personal care, and converse clearly with consumers and other people in the community on a frequent basis.
