Nurse Manager - Perioperative Services

This Nurse Manager is a key member of the Surgical Services team and manages the PACU, Surgical Day and Endo areas. Responsibilities include:

 

Ensure optimal efficiency in daily flow throughout surgical services Evaluate and assess the daily schedule and staffing plan and to make adjustments to clinical assignments if necessary to enhance the overall  performance of the department and functioning of the unit. Evaluate and respond to changes in the daily schedule in real-time including add-on cases, late running cases, resource allocation, and other situations as they present. Collaborate with key stakeholders (anesthesia, surgeons, department chiefs) to balance daily changes while maintaining departmental efficiency, ensuring safe patient care and striving for optimal clinical performance and outcomes.

The Nurse Manager reports to the Senior Director of Surgical Services.  This position oversees the clinical work being done in Lawrence General's state-of-the-art new Santagati Center, which brings Boston-caliber surgical sophistication to the Merrimack Valley. The Santagati Center opened in May 2017 and boasts seven spacious surgical suites, including the only hybrid operating room in the region.  Ideal candidate is able to demonstrate a record of change leadership, organizational and operational effectiveness and a commitment to a culture of safety to ensure quality patient care. 

Current Registered Nurse license in state of MA required.  Bachelors degree required; Masters degree strongly preferred.  Demonstrated progressive leadership experience required with a minimum of 3-5 years of Management experience required. CNOR strongly preferred.
