**Overview** **Helen M Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital - West Shore** ***A joint venture with Select Medical & UPMC Pinnacle*** Mechanicsburg, PA **Nurse Manager / Quality Coordinator (Dual Role)** We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager/Quality Coordinator to join our collaborative leadership team. This is a great opportunity for a strong nurse leader who is looking to make the next step in their professional careeror for an experienced manager looking to join a dynamic organization. **Responsibilities** We are looking for valued employees who will be Champions of the Select Medical Way, which includes putting the patient first, helping to improve quality of life for the community in which you live and work, continuing to develop and explore new ideas, providing high-quality care and doing well by doing what is right. **Job Summary** + Guiding, planning and directing hospital activities with ongoing assessment of the quality and efficiency of these activities. + Assessing patient care needs and coordinating the appropriate assignment of nursing staff in order to facilitate patient attainment of expected outcomes. + Coordinating schedules for nursing staff assigned to the area of responsibility. + Assisting with establishing and maintaining communication channels with medical staff and other departments within the hospital. + Participating in budgetary formulation and cost containment for areas of responsibility. + Maintaining effective utilization of manpower, equipment and supplies. + Assessing the need for and assisting in implementation of staff education and clinical development programs. + Assuming all administrative responsibilities on the unit on designated shifts. + Supervising the overall nursing care performance, maintaining quality patient care and providing staff assessments with written evaluations at designated intervals. + Assisting with survey activities to ensure that the facility maintains accreditation, certification and licensure. + Assisting with monthly interdisciplinary QAPI team meetings. + Assisting with reviews of quarterly quality improvement reports. + Assisting the Medical Director and Quality Program Director with development and implementation of medical staff quality improvement activities. + Performing all safety and EOC duties. + Performing monthly safety rounds and quality control surveillance. + Completing monthly quality related data entry, analysis and reporting. + Assisting with employee training and education in the work place. + Working with leadership team to ensure reporting requirements are met. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Requires current RN licensure. + At least 3 years of clinical practice experience with an emphasis on leadership. + 1 year of previous management experience. + Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date. **Preferred Experience** + Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred. + Previous experience with one major area of responsibility preferred (quality improvement risk management, infection control, or survey readiness) **Additional Data** Select Medical’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to best address the medical, physical, emotional and vocational challenges for individuals with: + Brain Injury + Spinal Cord Injury + Stroke + Amputation + Neurological Disorders + Orthopedic Conditions + Multiple Traumas _**Select Medical is committed to having a workforce that reflects diversity at all levels and is an equal opportunity employer.
