Nurse Manager System Float Pool

The Manager of Nursing Staffing Resources and Operations oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks. Manages systems for clinical productivity, acuity measurement and staffing. Manages budgeting, control of salary/non-salary and capital investment expenses and oversees the coordination/preparation of the annual operating plan, to ensure consistency with Inova Health System's goals. Provides direction and guidance to department team members.

Nurse Manager Staffing Resources Job Responsibilities:

Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks. Develops systems and processes for system float pool. Designs positions for internal staffing pools. Ensures that nursing team members appropriate credentials, training and competencies. Works with staffing resource and other leaders to develop tactics that integrate clinical, financial and business goals. Leads the analysis, selection, implementation and ongoing effectiveness of systems for clinical staffing and scheduling. Facilitates the development and monitoring of reports regarding clinical staffing appropriateness. Partners with finance to develop clinical/financial indicators, measures, goals and regular reports. Collaborates with leaders to extrapolate and prepare nursing report cards and bench-marking through data sources such as Magnet, HMC, NDNQI and other internal/external data sources. Mentors nursing leadership across sites in clinical resource management such as matching resources to clinical demand, innovative staffing models and staffing scheduling. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education - Bachelors Degree in Nursing Experience - 5 years of experience in a relevant work environment with two years in a management or leadership role Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
