The program director is a doctorally-prepared and specialty certified faculty member who meets state and national standards for licensure in the APRN specialty at the OHSU School of Nursing. This leadership role has input, responsibility, and oversight for program structure and operations to ensure academic excellence that adheres to Oregon statutes and regulations and national accreditation standards for APRN education and practice. This is an in-person position based in Portland.

 

This is a 1.0 FTE position. 0.5 FTE is allotted to the program director position duties. The remaining 0.5 FTE may be a combination of all, some or one of the following: teaching, scholarship, clinical practice in one of our faculty practices. This portion of the FTE will be negotiated with the School of Nursing Assistant Dean for Advanced Practice Nursing.

Function/Duties of Position

Appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.

 

Leadership and Administration:

Provides leadership in recruiting qualified faculty for identified programs by serving on search committees and assisting with recruitment functions.Engages with community partners across the state and region as needed to establish educational and clinical learning collaborations.Develops and establishes program operations that are standardized according to accreditation, APRN program, and School of Nursing practice.Ensures compliance with ACME policies.Leads evaluation and improvement efforts to ensure curricular requirements result in exemplary program and student outcomes.Leads faculty collaboration in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.Participates in the budgeting process and policy and procedure development.Uses course and program evaluation results for continuous and systematic program improvement.Provides ongoing development, engagement, and regular evaluation of program faculty.Manages program administration, including faculty workload assignments and course scheduling in consultation with other program directors and Assistant Dean for APRN DNP programs.Engages faculty in activities related to recruitment, admission, retention, and progression of students.Engages external and internal stakeholders in a manner to expand the program reach, advance the school’s reputation, secure funding, and meet emerging clinical needs.

In addition, this position participates in curriculum advancement and academic and community service. Specific details are available upon request. Required Qualifications

Education:

Earned doctorate (PhD or DNP)

Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses:

Oregon RN license

Oregon RN license

Oregon APRN license (midwife)

Certified Nurse-Midwife (AMCB), NRP if providing inpatient care

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Additional Details
